Teresa Mayr is a visual artist whose work is situated at the intersection of artistic research, curatorial practice, and the conception and realization of interdisciplinary projects.
Following their studies in Stage and Costume Design (Dresden University of Fine Arts) and Fine Arts (Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle/Saale, Munich University of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Berlin), Teresa Mayr completed a doctorate at the Bauhaus University Weimar. Their research examined processes of painterly deconstruction and reconstruction of binary systems of knowledge in the work of Hilma af Klint. Alongside their academic and artistic work, Teresa has taught at the university level, authored and contributed to scholarly and artistic publications, and curated exhibitions in international contexts.
Outside their professional practice, Teresa Mayr enjoys spending time with dogs and books, visiting exhibitions, museums, and cinemas, and pursuing hands-on DIY and home improvement projects.
